"They love each other and would do anything for one another." ~ Sebastian Roché

Tia. 20. Castiel stan. I hope you like watching someone spend their time crying about Jedi and angels.

Anakin/Obi-Wan and Castiel/Balthazar are my OTPs and usually my main posting topics. Other loves and obsessions include all the angels of Supernatural, TVD, The Original Family, Elejah, general Star Wars, LOST, Friday Night Lights, Morgan/Reid, and Lord of the Rings. Primary posting topics are all of the above and whatever else tickles my fancy at any given moment :)

"Perhaps it's simply a question of whether you love Obi-Wan Kenobi more than you love your wife." There is no more searching for words. There are no longer words at all. ~ ROTS Novelization

“You will duel them,” Sidious had said. “Kill Kenobi. His only purpose is to die and, in so doing, ignite young Skywalker to tap the depths of his fear and rage.” ~ Labyrinth of Evil by James Luceno

“Oh, ‘great warrior?’ Wars not make one great.”

Favorite Female Character (Part Two of Two): Leia Organa

“I don’t know who you are, or where you came from, but from now on, you’ll do as I tell you- okay?”

As a boy, he hadn’t wanted things to change. He wanted to keep those he loved close to him forever. Yet everything did change. He was far from his mother. He had lost Darra. Tru. And Qui-Gon. He couldn’t fight against those kinds of losses. So be it. He would have to push them down until they didn’t matter anymore.

One day, he would face his worst loss, the loss of his Master. By surpassing him, he would lose him. He pictured Obi-Wan turning to him in slow surprise, grasping for the first time the true extent of his power. Seeing that the student had outstripped the teacher.

On that day, Anakin’s heart would break for the last time. He would feel the weight of impossible sorrow.

He would not be able to bear that sorrow. Unless he no longer had a heart.

· #Star Wars #Revenge of the Sith #Anakin Skywalker #Obi-Wan Kenobi #anakinobiwan #my edits #So in the interest of full disclosure let me admit I've never actually read the JQ series just because I've seen so many mediocre reviews for it #but when I was reading fic the other day the author mentioned this line so I found the PDF to read the exact thing #and oh my God suddenly reconsidering reading the series because JFC how good is this quote? #Now yes I acknowledge that Anakin is an idiot and to put it bluntly a dick for thinking Obi-Wan will turn from him because of his power #but it's important to remember that this is when Anakin was still a teenager so that's largely youthful arrogance #and it's a lot more important to keep in mind Anakin has such a fixation on power because for the first 9 years of his life he had NONE #and he experienced how horrifically dehumanizing it is to be helpless and weak with no say in your own life a lot more intensely than many adults ever do #and you also have to keep in mind that the only unconditional love Anakin knew for that time came from his mother #whom on some level he probably felt was obligated to love him no matter what because they're family #any other sense of warmth or safety he may've hoped to find had to be earned by knowing his place as a slave and not stepping out of line #so considering all that plus his age and that he and Obi-Wan weren't as close then- not yet equals #and it makes sense for him to obsess about being powerful while he's simultaneously terrified Obi-Wan will turn away from him for it #And to Anakin's credit let’s remember that by the time he and Obi-Wan say their final goodbyes in ROTS #Anakin specifically and very sincerely apologizes for his arrogance #and I personally get the impression he now disagrees with Obi-Wan's view that Anakin has surpassed him as a Jedi #but back to focusing on this quote- how powerful is it that Anakin is sure he can find a way to struggle past any other loss #but losing Obi-Wan is the one thing he's positive he could never recover from? #That he can find a way to get past anyone else's death but Obi-Wan so much as looking at him differently will shatter him beyond repair? #Especially considering that Anakin and Obi-Wan really came into their relationship after Anakin's knighting #so even now before they're anywhere near as close as they someday will be #Anakin already knows with certainty the only way he could ever handle losing Obi-Wan #is if something is horrifically wrong with him and he's not himself at all anymore #OTP forever and always amen I can't even deal with them RN go on without me

Favorite Male Character (Part Three of Three): Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader

“This is Anakin Skywalker: The most powerful Jedi of his generation. Perhaps of any generation. The fastest. The strongest. An unbeatable pilot. An unstoppable warrior. On the ground, in the air or sea or space, there is no one even close. He has not just power, not just skill, but dash: that rare, invaluable combination of boldness and grace. He is the best there is at what he does. The best there has ever been. And he knows it. HoloNet features call him the Hero With No Fear. And why not? What should he be afraid of?

Except… fear lives inside him anyway, chewing away the fire-walls around his heart. […]

That is the kind of fear that lives inside Anakin Skywalker: the dragon of that dead star. It is an ancient, cold dead voice within his heart that whispers ‘All things die.’ In bright day he can’t hear it; battle, a mission, even a report before the Jedi Council, can make him forget it’s even there. But at night…at night the walls he has built sometimes start to frost over. Sometimes they start to crack.

At night, the dead-star dragon sometimes sneaks through the cracks and crawls up into his brain and chews at the inside of his skull. The dragon whispers of what Anakin has lost. And what he will lose. The dragon reminds him, every night, of how he held his dying mother in his arms, of how she had spent her last strength to say ‘I knew you would come for me, Anakin…”

The dragon reminds him, every night, that someday he will lose Obi-Wan. He will lose Padmé. Or they will lose him.

‘All things die, Anakin Skywalker. Even stars burn out…’

· #Star Wars #10 Days of Star Wars Meme #Anakin Skywalker #my edits #I feel like I can already sense eyerolling and mocking and one- well you don't have to reblog it do you? And more seriously two- #I firmly take the position that no character gets a worse deal from the films than Anakin himself #I hate how in TPM instead of focusing on how truly horrific it is #that this little kid has already learned the only reason it'll matter if someone decides to murder him is because #he's property that'll have to be paid for and not because his life as individual human being has any worth #we get too many cutesy scenes just focusing on how precocious he is and the tone is all wrong #and in AOTC and ROTS we don't see Anakin going through things so much as we see things happening TO him because his headspace isn't explored #nearly as much as it should be; and because we're seeing Anakin at his worst 90% of the time it's hard to sell him as a sympathetic figure #I understand why it's hard for so much of the audience to feel invested in his fall to the dark #when the films don't ever really let us see Anakin existing in the light #and it's even more frustrating when you look at how well Anakin is handled in the EU in comparison #Because when you have the time to truly delve into Anakin's headspace you get to see how complex and interesting he really is #I like that we see how a childhood of slavery eternally affects every thought Anakin has and every choice he makes #that we're shown how damaged he truly has been by a life he didn't ask for #but how hard he tries to do the right thing all the same because he genuinely wants nothing more than to help people #I love how much more they explore shades of grey and that we’re shown #times where Anakin was arguably right to stray from the path of the Jedi and the more compassionate person for it #I love that we actually get to see Anakin at his best and understand how likable he truly is and why the people who love him do so #And just altogether I really feel like when you have the full picture of who Anakin is and what drives him then he is a GR9 character okay #The boy who was brought up a slave and was determined to never let anyone take his or any other being's freedom ever again #only to grow up and take every wrong turn and not only enslave the galaxy but HIMSELF all over again #to Sidious and to the suit and to the darkness #the man who cared so fiercely for so many but whose unhealthy concepts of love and what's right in the name of the greater good #led him down the path paved with good intentions to Hell only for him to find his way back to the light #in one final act of true selflessness brought on by the enduring love he held for his child #queue
